ANTIDOTE is an innovative, global, art and design platform connecting a new generation of collectors with the emerging talents of today.
Antidote has a strong focus on the Middle East & South Asian artists & designers.
Founders Laure Parise from France and Najeh Zimmermann from Pakistan have lived and worked in cities around the globe in the fields of art, design and fashion. This diversity of experience is reflected in their perception and sensibility of art and design.
They started the journey with the artroom concept, of moving art away from the formality of a gallery and making it more accessible for the first time buyers. The artroom concept was set up in a relaxed space, whether residential or commercial, where the pieces of all the Antidote artists and designers was curated and shown together as a collection. Digitising art and starting an online e-commerce was a natural progression of the same idea, making it truly accessible to all. This platform is designed to bring high quality art and design to all, from the first time buyer to the savvy collector.
It was inevitable that Laure Parise, with her entrepreneur mindset and enthusiasm for art & design co-founded an online art and design platform.
After a Masters Degree in Communication Law at Panthéon Assas University, she began her carreer in Public Relation for L’Oreal in Asia before starting her first web agency in Malaysia 18 years ago.
Since then, Laure returned to her initial passion and has worked in both corporate companies and non-profit institutions in the art, design and trend field in various countries around the world such as USA, France, China and recently UAE. She has over 15 years of experience in managing and producing international art & design projects such as art auctions, fundraising and exhibitions from conceptualization to curation.
From an early age Najeh knew that art and design was her calling. In 2015 she co-founded Antidote art and design, which brought together all the skills she had acquired in the many of years of working in the art and design field.
With an Undergraduate Degree in Graphic Design and Animation and a Graduate Degree in Art Management, Najeh has worked in the field of art and design all her life. From teaching at Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture in Karachi, Pakistan, to working at Mont Blanc in Hamburg, Germany in Cultural Affairs, Najeh has been committed to her involved in the arts, in fostering multicultural collaborations, connecting cultural institutions and projects, applying the skills she has developed along the way and using them to fulfill the demanding objectives of project management.
